Expert cosmetic dentist Dr. Austin uses the most advanced smile design technology to help you achieve a Hollywood-inspired smile. Whether your teeth are chipped, cracked, crooked, discolored or missing, Dr. Austin can help to make them straight, white, and luminescent so that your smile looks its very best.
- First, we will determine if you are a candidate for teeth whitening.
- Next we will take “before” photos that will be used to later compare the initial color of your teeth to the final color after whitening.
- Then we will begin protecting your cheeks, lips and gums with barrier materials so that only your teeth are exposed.
The powerful hydrogen peroxide teeth whitening gel is applied directly to the teeth and soaks into the internal pores of the teeth below the tooth’s enamel where the yellow color and stains are housed. The gel is applied to the teeth up to 4 times for 15 minutes each session to total 1 hour. After the 4th session, we will take “after” photos to show you just how much whiter your teeth are following the treatment.
Re-Make/Re-Sizing of Old Porcelain Veneers
Porcelain veneers are thin pieces of porcelain used to recreate the natural look of teeth. To place a veneer, a very small amount of the original tooth enamel must be removed. Afterwards, an adhesive layer is placed between the slightly prepped tooth and the veneer. The veneer is then hardened with a curing light.
Porcelain veneers are excellent for restoring the appearance of teeth that have been damaged due to injury or that are discolored, chipped, or misaligned. The color, shape, length, and size of your teeth can be completely altered with high-quality porcelain veneers. Dr. Austin can make you look younger and more attractive with dental veneer technology.
Porcelain veneers replace the enamel of your teeth by bonding to the front of each tooth. Like natural enamel, these thin glass-like veneers are translucent and light-absorbing, which creates a natural and luminescent appearance. With porcelain veneers by New York cosmetic dentist Dr. Austin, you can have the beautiful, natural-looking smile you’ve always wanted.
During your initial office visit, we will do a smile makeover consultation where we will walk you through the various stages of your porcelain veneers treatment, allowing you to take an active role in designing your new smile. Your teeth will be lightly buffed in which about half a millimeter of enamel will be removed from the front surface of each tooth. A mold of your teeth will then be made so that perfectly fitting veneers can be created from them.
During the second phase of treatment (7-10 days later), your new porcelain veneers will be fitted and then bonded to your teeth upon your approval of the fit, color, size and shape of your custom made veneers. Your new porcelain veneers will not only give you a beautiful, natural-looking smile, but also the confidence to conquer the world.
Today, clear aligners such as Invisalign® and ClearCorrect® are the leading brands of clear, removable orthodontic appliances. An alternative to traditional braces, both Invisalign® and ClearCorrect® works by using a series of custom-fabricated transparent molds called “aligners” that gradually shift your teeth into proper alignment. Because Invisalign® and ClearCorrect® require no metal wires, no rubber bands, and no metal or white brackets, they are virtually undetectable, making them the treatment of choice among adult patients seeking orthodontic treatment.
The aligners are to be worn at least 20 hours a day in order to reposition the teeth successfully and most adults complete their treatment in less than one year (usually 6-11 months). However, treatment time will vary depending on the specific alignment problem that is being corrected. Despite popular belief, Invisalign® and ClearCorrect® can be used to correct many of the same problems as traditional metal braces such as crowding, spacing, crooked teeth, open bites, teeth that protrude too far forward, reversed bites, and other jaw problems that may have been inherited. We can confirm if you are a candidate for these cosmetic braces during a consultation visit.
Bonding to repair chipped front tooth
Dental bonding is used to address a variety of cosmetic and restorative dental issues. Our general dentist in Manhattan, Dr. Austin, can restore your teeth and improve the appearance of your smile with dental bonding.
Whether your teeth are chipped, cracked, discolored, or decayed, or you are concerned about gaps between teeth or receding gums, dental bonding can provide a long-lasting solution to many of your dental problems. Dental bonding is typically the quickest, easiest, and least expensive way to repair minor cosmetic imperfections in your smile.
During the dental bonding procedure, a tooth-colored composite resin much like plastic is applied to the affected area and hardened with light so that it bonds firmly to the tooth or teeth. The resin can be used to reshape your teeth, cover chips or cracks, repair decay, or protect exposed roots caused by receding gums. Since there are several different resin combinations, we can match the dental bonding material to the color of your teeth to ensure that your smile continues to look natural.
If your teeth have cosmetic imperfections or need minor restorative repairs, dental bonding at our practice in New York may make all the difference. With it, Dr. Austin can greatly improve the health, well-being, and beauty of your smile.
